Eight years ago I was in my last year of high school. I had grown up a pop punk kid, I was obsessed with Blink 182, Sum 41, The Ataris, NOFX and Lagwagon. A couple of years before I had dabbled with expanding my knowledge of the scene by listening to a band called Taking Back Sunday, which I had enjoyed but not pursued beyond that. Musically 2004 was a dark time for me, Hoobastank records were in my CD player as I sung along to "The Reason" thinking I was the coolest motherfucker ever.

Some Things I Liked in 2011: Podcasts

Here we are at the second part of my list of things I enjoyed last year. The subject this week is podcasts. Podcasts are something that I know I enjoy, and judging from their popularity on iTunes and columns like “Podmass” on AVClub, something I know many enjoy. Yet I can’t seem to find one single person that listens to them regularly. I was trying to explain Comedy Bang Bang to someone the other day and they looked at me like I was about to murder them. The point is, I enjoyed them, so I’m going to write about them. Here they are

Some Things I Liked Last Year - TV

The dust has settled on 2011, and personally it was an interesting one. I went on one of the trips of my life, hitting Vegas, New York, Chicago and LA with my closest friends. I got a new job, and a new place to live.  It did not stop me from indulging in my favourite games, films, TV shows and podcast.s, a few of which I am now going to write about below.

You're leaving the bar???

Sometimes I like to leave bars earlier than my friends. Sacrilege I know, but I get tired, or broke, or my friends are all on drugs or hitting on girls while I sit and wait.

When I  would leave said bar, I would get statements of shock and disbelief that I wasn't staying out until 6am. This used to happen quite a bit, and I was always confused as to why. I had already had a great time with my friends, and the shit they would usually indulge in past midnight was out of my area of comfort.

This is basically a long way of saying I wrote a short and crappy parody of The Road. I haven't read it in a while so probably didn't nail anything too specific. But I enjoyed the general lack of sentence structure
